Chicago Flower and Garden Show

10–18 Mar/ Navy Pier
Celebrating its 18th year, the Chicago Flower & Garden Show theme is a potpourri of blending the world of fashion with horticulture. The show is cleverly called "Hort Couture," and  promises to be event to remember containing over 25 gardens to view, There will be seminars, contests and culinary demonstrations by some of Chicago´s top chefs too.
River Dance

13-18 Mar/Oriental Theater - Ford Center for the Performing Arts
Chicago takes St. Patrick´s Day seriously and what better way to extend the Irish spirit than with an incredible theatrical event of River Dance. Traditional Irish step-dancing has been taken up ten notches by the world performing troupe; and every member of the audience will be tapping their feet.
MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition

15 Mar – 3 Sept/Museum of Science and Industry
Based on the Discovery Channel's show, MythBusters, the format of this show follows their expertise to prove or disperse myths through scientific methods done in a wild and unconventional ways. Watch the live demonstration and be amazed by the avant-garde techniques to answer everything you wanted to know but never had a chance to prove.
St Patrick's Day

With the Chicago St Patrick's Day parade taking place since 1843, every year it just keeps getting grander. The magnificent procession with hundreds of citizens and visitors dressed in green continues this year.  Marching bands and floats celebrate the occasion of being Irish.

Chicago is home to the Chicago Tribune, a well respected newspaper even internationally.  This 60-minute stage show brings the newspaper to life by featuring the people and stories making the news in a parody.

This is the largest event that hits Chicago for those who have the passion for the rhythm of the needle.  Classes, stage presentations, and the make-it take-it projects, which teach new techniques are just part of the fun for sewing devotees.

Observing Urban Nature for Families

24 Mar/Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum
This one day event highlights that nature even exists in the urban jungle, Part of this exhibit will teach the participants to take not of nature all around us. It is finalized with a tour of the Museum’s nature trails. A nature journal is presented to visitors on this day, in which they can continue their observations on their own.
